Billy Frank, 83, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, July 18, 2013.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 20, at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church.

Interment of the cremains will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Bell Choir or to the charity of choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home of Fredericksburg.

 

 

MRS. ANTON M. STEHLING

Mrs. Anton M. Stehling, 92, nee Irene Pohler of Fredericksburg, died Friday, July 19, 2013, at Knopp Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 21, from 4-7 p.m., and Monday, July 22, from 7 a.m.-1:45 p.m., in the chapel at Schaetter Funeral Home where a vigil service will be held Sunday at 6 p.m.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, July 22, at 2 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with interment following at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to the charity of choice.

Mrs. Raymond Ottmers Sr., 94, nee Ruth Lena Moritz of Fredericksburg, died Friday, July 26, 2013, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehab Center.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 29, from 5-7 p.m., and Tuesday, July 30, from 7 a.m.-1:45 p.m., in the chapel at Schaetter Funeral Home.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 30, at 2 p.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with interment following in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Richard Rabb

RICHARD RABB

Richard Rabb, 63, of Llano, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013.

Memorial services were held Saturday, July 27, at 10 a.m. at Lutie Watkins United Methodist Church in Llano, with the Reverends Elliott Pancoast and Leslie Tomlinson officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Waldrope – Hatfield – Hawthorne Funeral Homes of Llano.

Rabb was born July 4, 1950, in San Saba, the son of Sam and Mary Rabb. He married Debbie Welgehausen on June 10, 1972, and she survives.

A 1968 Llano High School graduate, Rabb earned a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Texas A&M University in 1972, and upon graduation, went to work for the Federal Land Bank. He had a 27-year career and retired in 2000.

Rabb was a member, past president and director of the Hill Country Livestock Raiser’s Association. He also volunteered at the Fort Worth Stock Show.

In addition to his wife, Rabb is survived by two daughters, Casey Kendrick and her husband, Andy, of Friona, and Cassidy Rabb of Stephenville, and two granddaughters.

He is also survived by his parents, Sam and Mary Rabb of Llano; three brothers and sisters-in-law, including Sam and Carol Rabb Jr. and Hilton and Ginny Rabb, all of San Antonio, and Russell and Jane Rabb, of Llano.

Survivors also include his mother-in-law, Marion Welgehausen of Fredericksburg; and brother-in-law, Myron Welgehausen and wife, Lisa, also of Fredericksburg.

Rabb was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Oliver Welgehausen. 

Memorials may be made to the Hill Country Livestock Raiser’s Association, the Llano County A&M Club or to the charity of choice.

Eduard Horobec

EDUARD HOROBEC

Eduard Horobec, 63, of Harper, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

No services are planned at this time.

Horobec was born Dec. 12, 1949, in Mildorf, Germany, the son of Peter and Rosa Horobec, and immigrated to the United States with his parents and younger brother when he was two years old. He grew up and attended schools in the St. Louis, Mo. area.

He married Elaine Ivens on June 1, 1991. Over the years, they lived in San Antonio and Pipe Creek, as well as Costa Rica for three and one-half years before returning to Texas in 2012 and settling near Harper.

After a stint in the U.S. Army, Horobec followed a career as a car salesman, which included having his own car lots and working for dealerships. In 2007, he retired from Fiesta Auto Center in San Antonio where he had worked as a salesman and as manager of one of their car lots.

In addition to his wife, Horobec is survived by his daughter, Taeh, of Lincoln, Neb., and his sons, Dane and Darson, of South Dakota.

Survivors also include his parents, Rosa and Peter Horobec of the St. Louis, Mo. area, five brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Casper Flink

Mrs. Casper Flink, 93, the former Iantha Dobsky Albrecht of Fredericksburg, died Monday, July 29, 2013, at Knopp Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 31, from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 1, from 7-8:15 a.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home.

The body will lie in state at Schaetter Funeral Home until 8:15 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, and from 9-11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where the funeral will begin at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or to the charity of choice.

TOMMY FELLER

Thomas William (Tommy) Feller, 89, of Kerrville, died Sunday, July 21, 2013, in San Antonio.

Graveside services and interment in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Uvalde were held Thursday, July 25, at 1 p.m.

Visitation was held from 8 a.m.-noon, Thursday, at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary in Uvalde.

Feller was born April 18, 1924, in Harper, the son of Alfred and Amanda Feller.

He retired from CP&L after a 30-year career.  He was also a retiree of the Uvalde and Del Rio Volunteer Fire Departments.

Feller is survived by his wife, Jean; two step-daughters, Debbie Scrimshire and Peggie Sarno; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Survivors also include a brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Ernestine Feller of Harper, and a sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Roland Behrends of Fredericksburg.

In addition to his parents, Feller was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie Feller, and six siblings.

Memorials may be made to the Uvalde Volunteer Fire Department, 123 S. Getty St., Uvalde, TX 78801.

Jerry John Crittell

JERRY JOHN CRITTELL

Jerry John Crittell, 78, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehab.

A funeral mass was celebrated Monday, July 29, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist and Donna Durst, the vocalist.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a rosary service were held Sunday evening, July 28.

Crittell was born Oct. 4, 1934, in San Antonio, the son of Joseph M. Crittell Sr. and Katherine Helena Staudt Crittell.

He is survived by four brothers, one sister and spouses, including William Crittell and John Crittell, both of Fredericksburg; Joseph and Dolores Crittell Jr., Carl and Mary Crittell and  Mary Elizabeth Key, all of San Antonio, and a sister-in-law, Gloria Crittell.

In addition to his parents, Crittell was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Louise Crittell, and a brother, Ben Crittell.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included David Crittell, Jeff Crittell, William Crittell Jr., Scott Key, Stacy Kuhlmann and Dennis Stephen.
