Roque Robles, 65, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 9, at 3 p.m. in the chapel at Schaetter Funeral Home with interment following in Greenwood Cemetery.

Dale Priour

DALE PRIOUR

Dale Priour, 91, of Ingram, died Sunday, June 30, 2013.

A memorial service was held Friday, July 5, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville with graveside services and interment following at Nichols Cemetery near Ingram.

Priour was born in Kerr County in 1922, the son of Jim and Velma Priour. His wife, Edna, preceded him in death.

He attended the University of Texas and left in his final semester to join the United State Air Force, serving as a pilot in the Pacific.

He returned from World War II in 1945 to start a family and partner in the family wool and mohair warehouse in Ingram, growing it to multiple warehouses throughout Central Texas over the next 40 years.

He is credited for helping bring world-wide focus to the mohair and wool industry of Central Texas.

Priour was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 65 years and was a 32nd degree Master Mason.

Prior is survived by two sons, two daughters and spouses, including Gary and Carol Priour,  Lary and Georgia Priour, Dalene and Marc Taylor and Nancy and Wesley Hopkins, and 16 grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Priour was preceded in death by a brother, J.W. Priour.

Memorials may be made to the Hill Country Youth Ranch in Ingram.

MRS. LOUIS C. PLATH

Mrs. Louis C. Plath, 85, nee Elva Bertha Barnes, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehab.

Arrangements and cremations were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Plath was born Nov. 3, 1927, in Terre Haute, Ind., the daughter of Ralph Linden Barnes and Minnie McClin­tock Barnes. She married Louis Plath on Feb. 16, 1947, in McAllen. He preceded her in death.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Plath was preceded in death by a son, Michael Plath.

Memorials may be made to any local hospice or to the charity of choice.

Janet Morgan, 59, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, June 27, 2013.

A memorial service was held Saturday, July 6, at 1 p.m. at Liberty Lighthouse Fellowship in Johnson City.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Ms. Morgan was born June 5, 1954, at Fort Hood, the daughter of Robert L. Scott and Dorothy Register Scott.

Survivors include her son, Doug Hutchinson; and her mother, Dorothy Scott, both of Devers.

She is also survived by two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Texas Children’s Hospital or to the charity of choice.

Hubert H. Klein, 88, of Stonewall, died Saturday, July 6, 2013.

A funeral mass was celebrated Monday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stonewall, with interment with military honors following in the Stonewall Community Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department, Hill Country Memorial Hospice, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church or to the charity of choice.

MRS. HUGO ESENSEE

Mrs. Hugo Esensee, 86, nee Lois Viola Hoffman of Austin, died Monday, July 1, 2013.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 6, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Hollis Hoffman officiating.

Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held Saturday morning before the funeral.

Mrs. Esensee was born May 5, 1927, in Bastrop County, the daughter of Jacob Hoffman and Viola Osteen Hoffman. She married Hugo Esensee on Jan. 28, 1946, in Travis County. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, four sons and spouses, including Virgil Esensee of Iowa; Patricia and Boyce Williamson of Luling; Debi and Phil Jones of Buda, and Tim Esensee, David Esensee and Michael Esensee, all of Austin.

Survivors also include three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include two sisters, one brother and spouses: Panzy and Henry Taylor of Austin; Edith and John Lang of Dallas, and John and Joyce Hoffmann of Cedar Creek.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Esensee was preceded in death by a son, Randy Esensee; two sisters, Margaret Freeman and Eva Mae Schneider, and two brothers, William Hoffman and Jacob Hoffman.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Lighthouse for the Blind or to the charity of choice.

Mrs. Charles L. Sands, 89, nee Betty Jessup, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, July 14, 2013, at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 17, from 4-6 p.m., and Thursday, July 18, from 7 a.m.-12:15 p.m., in the chapel at Schaetter Funeral Home.

The body will lie in state at Schaetter Funeral Home until 12:15 p.m., Thursday, July 18, and from 1-2 p.m., at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church where the funeral will begin at 2 p.m.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Paul W. Wallendorf, 92, nee Viola Pahl, of Freder­icksburg, died Saturday, July 13, 2013.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 17, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with interment following in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Roque Robles, 65, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 9, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held Monday evening and Tuesday before the funeral.

Robles was born Aug. 20, 1947, in Acuna, Coahuila, Mexico, the son of Juan Robles and Petra Guadalajara Robles. He married Irene Galaviz on Oct. 3, 1970, in Acuna, Coahuila, Mexico, and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Robles is survived by two sons, one daughter and spouses, including Oscar and Patti Robles, Luis and Izzy Robles and Lorena Robles, all of Fredericksburg.

Survivors also include five grandchildren and his mother and father, Juan and Petra Robles of Acuna, Coahuila, Mexico.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Marcus A. Robles, Robert B. Robles, Arturo Robles, Rafael Robles, Rodrigo Robles, Rolando Robles and Josue Robles.

Randal Oehler

Randal Oehler, 81, of Jewett and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, July 6, 2013.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Oehler was born July 16, 1931, in Jewett, the son of Arthur Oehler and Elgie Bryant Oehler.

A graduate of Fredericksburg High School, Oehler was a United States Air Force veteran, having served for 34 years as an airplane mechanic. He went on to get his private pilot’s license.

He also retired from civil service work after a 30-year career.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Fort Worth.

Oehler is survived by two sons, Rodney Oehler and Anthony Oehler, both of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Melissa Rodriguez of Rowlett and Sharon Oehler of Mesquite; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a brother, Robert Oehler of New Braunfels.

In addition to his parents, Oehler was preceded in death by a son, Roger Oehler, and two brothers, Herbert Oehler and Charlie Oehler.

Elsie Kizer, 93, nee Kingston, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, July 5, 2013.

A memorial service was held Sunday, July 14, at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Higginbotham officiating.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kizer was born Oct. 16, 1919, in Gloucestershire, England, the daughter of Nigel Kingston and Edith Tanscell Kingston. She married Levi Dardar and later Jacob Alvin Kizer Jr., who both preceded her in death.

Mrs. Kizer is survived by three sons, including Nigel Dardar and his wife, Colette Deschamps, of Hancock, Md.; Levi Dardar and his wife, Penny, of Ashville, N.C., and Jake Kizer of Houston; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands and parents, Mrs. Kizer was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Kingston.

Mrs. Calvin H. Fuchs, 92, nee Nellie Ida Klappenbach, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Knopp Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 15, at 2 p.m. at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church with the Reverends Danielle Knapp and Pam Traver officiating. Judy Hickerson was the organist.

Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation was held at the church before the funeral.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fuchs was born May 9, 1921, in Johnson City, the daughter of Ernst Klappenbach and Lizzie Heckel Klappenbach. She married Calvin H. Fuchs on Sept. 4, 1954, in Johnson City and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fuchs is survived by three sons, one daughter and spouses, including Mike and Sena Leese, of Stephenville; David and Jeanette Leese, Van Vleck; Mary and Marshall Davis, Fredericksburg, and Bob and Donna Fox, Cedar Hill.

Survivors also include eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Yvonne Huebner of San Antonio.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Fuchs was preceded in death by one brother, Hugo Ernst Klappenbach, and three sisters, including Anna Crofts, Gertrude Unger and Margaret Rittimann.

 Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, Fredericksburg United Methodist Church or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Noelle Garstka, Brad Leese, David Leese Jr., Tammy Campbell, Chris Davis, Cory Davis, Andy Fox and Kristin Fox.

MRS. LESTER BEHRENDS

Mrs. Lester Behrends, 74, nee Ida Mae Juenke, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, July 5, 2013, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehab Center.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 8, at 3 p.m. at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bobby Vitek officiating.

Interment followed at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Monday morning.

Mrs. Behrends was born Dec. 15, 1938, in Gillespie County, the daughter of Edgar Juenke and Vera Moldenhauer Juenke. She married Lester Behrends on Sept. 26, 1965, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Behrends is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Marianna Behrends of San Angelo, and a daughter, Evonne Behrends of Midwest City, Okla., and three grandchildren.

She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Vera and Anthony (Tony) Heiner of Punta Gorda, Fla.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Behrends was preceded in death by one sister, Irene, Mrs. Elroy Ransleben.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospital, Holy Ghost Lutheran Church or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Charles Krieger, Louis Brown, Dennis Ransleben, Kenneth Krieger, Steve Juenke and Jerry Durst.
