Jim Johnston, 80, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015.
Funeral services were held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home, with interment following on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Johnston was born Dec. 31, 1934, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, the son of Harold and Beatrice Williams. He married Beverly Woolsey on Dec. 19, 1962, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and she preceded him in death.
He served with the United States Army, the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps.
Johnston was a retired airline pilot.
Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Copeland of Lewisville; a son, Mike Johnston of Frisco; two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and a son-in-law, Bill Copeland.
