
JAMES ANTHONY (JIMMY) KAMMLAH
James Anthony (Jimmy) Kammlah, 69, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, March 16, 2015, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 18, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist, and Donna Durst, the vocalist.
Interment followed at the Friedrich Family Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service, led by Deacon Patrick Klein, was held Tuesday evening, March 17.
Kammlah was born March 31, 1945, in Fredericksburg, the son of Edwin Edward Kammlah and Paula Kunz Kammlah. He married Sandra Louise Friedrich on May 5, 1965, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and she survives.
A St. Mary’s High School graduate, Kammlah started his career in the electrical and HVAC field while he was in high school.
He eventually opened his own business, W-K Electric, which he operated for 34 years.
He also served six years in the United States Army Reserves, receiving an honorable discharge.
In addition to his wife, Kammlah is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kyla and Travis West of Fredericksburg, and four grandchildren.
Kammlah was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kody J. Kammlah; his step-mother, Leona Jacoby Langbein Kammlah; one brother, Lawrence (Larry) Kammlah, and his parents-in-law, Heinrich and Flora L.L. Land Friedrich.
Memorials may be made to the Friedrich Family Cemetery, St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or Hill Country Memorial Home Healthcare.
Pallbearers included Travis West, Forrest West, Ethan West, Chris Semmler, Kris Kammlah and Jimmy Bernhard.
