Cecil Joe Scott

Cecil Joe Scott, 80, of Johnson City, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Liberty Lighthouse Fellowship in Johnson City, with interment following in the Llano City Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Johnson City where visitation was held Friday evening.

Scott was born July 15, 1935, in Llano, the son of Marion Clifton Scott and Ethel Delilah Smith Scott. He and his wife, the former Betty Lou Smith, were married 58 years ago and she survives.

He began working for the Moursund Ranch in the 1970s and worked there for 40 years until his retirement.

Prior to that, he worked for the Slator Ranches, Bar “O” Ranch, Llano County Road Department, Joe Bland Construction and for some pipeline companies.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by six sons, three daughters and spouses, including Ronnie and Kassie Scott, Larry and Tina Scott, Barbara and Randy Sultemeier and Scott and Kimberly Scott, all of Johnson City; Dale and DiAnne Scott, Cherokee; Tammy Leach, Round Mountain; Susan and Larry Beyer, Fredericksburg;  Darren and Dana Scott, Beeville, and Warren and Lesa Scott, Llano.

He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Elizabeth Scott Cranford; two brothers, M.C. Scott and Francis K. Scott; one son, Jerry Scott; one daughter, Betty Gale Scott; and two grandchildren, Lance Scott and Slater Sultemeier.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to Liberty Lighthouse Fellowship.
