William Cameron Hawkes, 84, of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Fredericksburg, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2014.
Services were held Monday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m. at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home in Clearwater, Florida.
Hawkes was born in Evanston, Illinois, and moved with his family to Pinellas County in 1950. He married Elizabeth Stephens who preceded him in death in 2010.
He attended St. Petersburg Junior College before enlisting in the United States Army, serving in Korea until 1954.
Hawkes worked for many years in the sales and service of mobile homes and recreational vehicles in Dunedin. He spent many hours volunteering at All Children’s Hospital and the St. Petersburg YMCA.
Survivors include one sister, Barbara Buck of Crystal Lake, Illinois; his sisters-in-law, Cay Meadows of Fredericksburg, June Bond and Louise Stephens of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
