
GLORIA JOY GLAZENER
Gloria Joy Glazener, 81, nee Hightower, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. J. Jason Fry officiating.
Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Sunday evening.
Mrs. Glazener was born Jan. 13, 1933, in Groesbeck, the daughter of Edward B. Hightower and Dena Faye Masters Hightower. She married James (Jim) Glazener on June 20, 1952, in Texas City, and he survives.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Glazener is survived by two daughters, Shelley Weaver of Fredericksburg and Robbin Embury of Fort Defiance, Arizona, and one son, Scott Glazener of Canyon Lake.
Survivors also include eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a brother and sister-in-law, Edward (Bubba) and Kathy Hightower of Santa Fe, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Marjorie, Mrs. Ray Lagrone, and Glyenna Guidry, and one brother, David Hightower.
Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included James Lee Weaver, Jarrett Weaver, Adam Embury, Mark Embury, James Scott Glazener Jr. and Lonnie Hohmann.
