Joaquin Munoz

Joaquin Munoz, 73, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014.

A funeral mass was celebrated Saturday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the organist, and Donna Durst, the vocalist.

Private distribution of the cremains is planned at a later date.

Visitation and a vigil service were held Friday evening, Sept. 5, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home.

Munoz was born March 6, 1941, in Kendall County, the son of Martin Munoz and Beatrice Ramirez Munoz. He married Manuela Sanchez-Malcara on Sept. 25, 2004, in Kerrville, and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Munoz is survived by two sons, one daughter and spouses, including Fernando and Dianne Munoz and Thomas and Casey Munoz, all of Fredericksburg, and Dolores Rodriquez of Kerrville; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Munoz was preceded in death by his first wife, Ovelia (BeBe) Castaneda Munoz.
