Lorene Maurer Pfiester, 86, of San Antonio, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014.
A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m. at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, 6907 Kitchener St., San Antonio.
A rosary service is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., just before the mass.
Interment will be in Fredericksburg at a future date.
Mrs. Pfiester was born June 29, 1928, in the Stonewall-Hye area, the daughter of Adolph Maurer and Delka Nebgen Maurer. She spent most of her life in San Antonio. She married Charles (Charlie) Pfiester nearly 65 years ago and he survives.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Pfiester is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, including Mike and Zelpha Pfiester of Austin; Rod and Nan Pfiester, Kyle; Charlie and Diana Pfiester Jr., San Antonio, and Jeff and Debbie Pfiester, Houston.
Survivors also include eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Lucille Scharnhorst of Blanco, and Beatrice Hacker, Boerne.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or to the charity of choice.
