MAMI MARIA GURROLA
Mami Mary Gurrola, 64, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, July 4, 2014.
A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Scott Janysek officiating.
Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Deacon Francisco DeLaTorre led a vigil service Tuesday evening, July 8, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held that evening and Wednesday morning.
Mrs. Gurrola was born April 15, 1950, in Mexico, the daughter of Auerilio Rivera and Maria Neri Rivera. She married Guillermo Gurrola who preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter, three sons and spouses, including Memo and Ana Gurrola, Javier and Noemi Gurrola and Lore Gurrola, all of Fredericksburg, and Raymundo and Pilar Gurrola of Frisco.
Survivors also include 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters, two brothers and spouses, including Amelia and Lupe Alvardo, Julia and Pablo Neri and Beatriz Prado, all of Mexico; Esperanza and Raymundo Moran of Boerne, and Javier and Petra Rivera and Abel and Herminia Rivera, all of Fredericksburg.
Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Memo Gurrola, Javier Gurrola, Raymundo Gurrola, Joel Gurrola, Jaimito Castro, Gauino Castro, Diego Gurrola, Willy Gurrola, Favian Gurrola, Junior Gurrola and Manuel Gurrola.
