William Emmett (Bill) White, 91, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, July 7, 2014.
A memorial service was held Saturday, July 12, at 10 a.m. at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. J. Jason Fry officiating.
Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.
White was born Nov. 2, 1922, in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of William White and Louise Wells White. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Freeman on March 21, 1947, in Georgia, and she survives.
In addition to his wife, White is survived by one daughter, one son and spouses, Amanda and Gary Edwards of Peoria, Arizona, and David and Lydell White of Fredericksburg; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Survivors also include a sister-in-law, Lindell White of Jacksonville, Florida.
White was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bob White, and a brother, Hugh White.
Memorials may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness or to the charity of choice.
