
ANTHONY JOSEPH MAIMER
Anthony Joseph Maimer, 81, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, June 2, 2014.
Graveside services with military honors and interment of the cremains were held Friday, June 6, at 9 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
A rosary service and memorial mass were celebrated Friday afternoon, June 6, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist; Annette Whittington, the vocalist, and the St. Mary’s Adult Choir sang.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.
Maimer was born May 5, 1933, in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of Benjamin Maimer and Maulita Cosgrove Maimer.
He served in the United States Air Force for nearly 30 years.
Maimer is survived by two daughters, four sons and spouses, including Elaine and Michael Fagen and Daniel and Melissa Maimer, all of Kansas; Bernard Maimer, Canada; Chris and Tamara Maimer, Colorado; Joe and Samantha Maimer, Arizona, and Laura and Allen Wengerd, Ohio.
Survivors also include 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two brothers, Benjamin Maimer of Kansas and David Maimer and his spouse, Terry, of San Antonio.
Maimer was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John Maimer and Ion Maimer.
Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
