Oris A. Brehmer

Oris A. Brehmer, 89, of Houston, died April 15, 2014.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at Sugar Grove Church of Christ in Meadows Place.

Interment with military honors followed on Wednesday afternoon, April 23, at Greenwood Cemetery in Fredericksburg.

Visitation was held Monday, April 21, at Earthman Southwest Chapel in Stafford.

Brehmer was born Dec. 29, 1924, in Luckenbach, the son of Walter E. Brehmer and Dorothea A. Schupp Brehmer. He married Jean Feller on Oct. 9, 1947. She preceded him in death.

He was a 1942 graduate of Fredericksburg High School and a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1943-1946.

After living in San Antonio for 20 years, the Brehmers moved to Houston in 1967. He was employed at Kinder Morgan (and its predecessors) from 1946 to 1989.

He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Brehmer, of Austin.

In addition to his wife and parents, Brehmer was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley J. Brehmer.
