
EDNA BROWN
Edna Catherine Brown, 101, nee McDonald, of Fredericksburg and formerly of Cleveland, Texas, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at Knopp Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 31, at noon at Pace-Stancil Funeral Chapel in Cleveland with interment following at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston.
Mrs. Brown was born June 14, 1912, in Glover, Okla., the daughter of Willis Andrew McDonald and Cora Lee McDonald.
She was instrumental in helping form the Senior Center in Cleveland and was on the board of directors. She was also active in the Association of Retired Persons Chapter 1174 of Cleveland, serving as president at different times.
Mrs. Brown was also one of the founders of the Interfaith Center that was organized by local churches to help those in need with clothing and food.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and E.T. Jenschke of Harper, and a son, Andrew James Brown of Cleveland.
Survivors also include 10 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 45 great-great-grandchildren.
Also is surviving a sister, Clara Sue Miller of Las Vegas Nev., and a brother, Marshall McDonald of Tom, Okla.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Barney Jackson; second husband, Andrew Jackson Brown; three daughters, Ola Erline, Doris and Georgia Faye Vines; brothers, Albert McDonald, Herschell Howard McDonald, and Vester Earl McDonald; two sisters, Joy Evelyn Williford and Mildred Marzelle Painter, and four grandchildren, Linda Day, Pamela Cain, James Richard Atwood and Tony Atwood.
Pallbearers included Mike Jenschke, Scott Jenschke, Barry McDonald and Jerry McDonald.
