Mrs. Leo Allerkamp, 98, nee Paula Karger of Comfort, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home, Comfort, with Larry Adams officiating.
Interment followed in the Comfort Cemetery.
Visitation was held Friday evening and Saturday morning at the funeral chapel.
Mrs. Allerkamp was born Nov. 11, 1917, in Comfort, the daughter of Louis Karger and Jennie Sabban Karger. She married Leo Allerkamp on Dec. 15, 1939, in Boerne. He preceded her in death.
She attended school in Comfort. Over the years, she owned and operated a grocery store and then worked as a certified nurse’s aide.
Mrs. Allerkamp is survived by two sons, one daughter and spouses, including Garil Deen and Shirley Allerkamp, Eyrline Behrends and James and Carol Allerkamp, all of Comfort.
Survivors also include nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving is a sister, Jean Lois Mohr of Fredericksburg.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Allerkamp was preceded in death by a daughter, Edith Holekamp; a granddaughter, Lisa Gross; two sisters, Milbie Bohnert and Bella Luedke, and a brother, Harold Karger.
Memorials may be made to the Comfort Cemetery Association.
Her grandchildren served as pallbearers.
