Mrs. Charles Reaves

Mrs. Charles Reaves, 70, nee Bernice Gold of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, May 7, 2016.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 13, at Bethany Lutheran Church with the Rev. Casey Zesch officiating. Margie Ottmers was the organist.

Interment of the ashes is planned at a later date.

Visitation was held Thursday evening, May 12, at the church.

Mrs. Reaves was born Dec. 27, 1945, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Clemens Gold and Vera Hartmann Gold. She married Charles Reaves on Sept. 4, 1966, at Bethany Lutheran Church and he survives.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Reaves was an educator, teaching elementary grades in the Fredericksburg Independent School District for 26 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, one daughter and spouses, Scott and Eileen Reaves of Sisterdale and Shelly and Clay Skarovsky of Garden Ridge, and seven grandchildren.

Survivors also include one brother, one sister and spouses, Kermit and Audrey Gold and Lottie and Florian Demel, all of Fredericksburg.

Mrs. Reaves’ parents preceded her in death.

Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, Willow City Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department or Hill Country Memorial Hospice.
