
JANE MARGARET-MAHAN GINN
Jane Margaret-Mahan Ginn, 84, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016.
A memorial Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, May 9, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating.
Interment at Forrest Park Lawndale, Garden of Gethsemane in Houston is planned at a later date.
Mrs. Ginn was born Feb. 15, 1932, in Temple, the daughter of Katharine Dickie Moore and Edward M. Mahan Jr. Sixty-six years ago, she married Joseph G. Ginn, and he survives.
She graduated from Ursuline Academy in Galveston, and was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic minister in churches in San Antonio and Fredericksburg.
In her earlier years in Houston, she participated in garden and civic organizations.
Mrs. Ginn was a 50-year member of both the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was also the founding director of the Fredericksburg/Kerrville Chapter 26, Order of the Confederate Rose.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Ginn is survived by four sons, including Joseph G. Ginn Jr. and his wife, Peggy, of Johnson City, Michael Ginn and Gregory Ginn, both of Fredericksburg, and Chris Ginn and his wife, Linda, of San Antonio.
Survivors also include six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Sonny Boston of Fort Worth, and her brother-in-law, Bill Ginn, and his wife, Deloris, of Dickinson.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Ginn-Reese, and her parents.
Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice or the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Building Fund.
