MRS. ALLEN KLEIN
Mrs. Allen (Allie) Klein, 89, nee Helen Straube of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at Knopp Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Kris Bytomski officiating.
Interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Sunday evening and Monday morning and a vigil service was held Sunday evening with Deacon Patrick Klein officiating.
Mrs. Klein was born Oct. 7, 1926, in Gillespie County, the daughter of William Charles Straube and Theresa Staudt Straube. She married Allen Gottfried (Allie) Klein on Oct. 22, 1947, at St. Mary’s. He preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1984.
Mrs. Klein is survived by four daughters, one son and spouses, including Betty and Clayton Crenwelge, Mike and Ruth Klein, Nancey and Allen Tatsch, Sandi Beckmann and Irene and Kirk Gartman, all of Fredericksburg.
Survivors also include eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by two sisters, three brothers and spouses, including Rosa and Clayton Grobe, Lawrence and Arnette Straube, Robert and Lyn Straube, and Margaret, Mrs. Jimmy Loitz, all of Fredericksburg.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Klein was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Klein; a granddaughter, Stacey Crenwelge, and brother, Edwin (Jack) Straube.
Memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund, Doss Volunteer Fire Department or the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Jennifer Ellebracht, Nicole Burton, Charles A. Klein, Dustin Mueller, Kris Tatsch, Austin Lowery, Whitney Poer and Chelsea Lemons.
