
MRS. EDWARD STEHLING
Mrs. Edward Stehling, the former Viola Ersch Pressler, died Monday, May 13, 2013, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral mass was celebrated Friday, May 17, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist, and Donna Durst, the vocalist.
Graveside services and interment followed in the Comfort Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service were held Thursday evening, May 16.
Mrs. Stehling was born May 3, 1923, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Eddie Ersch and Cora Grosenbacher Ersch. She married Carl H. Pressler on June 12, 1943, and he died Dec. 12, 1964. She then married Edward Stehling on May 27, 1967, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church and he survives.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Stehling is survived by two daughters, two sons and spouses, including Joyce and Jimmy Schuchardt, Ronald and Glenda Stehling, JoAnn and James Rode and Charles Stehling, all of Fredericksburg.
Survivors also include six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two brothers, Milton Ersch and his wife, Carrie, and Levy Ersch.
Along with her parents and first husband, Mrs. Stehling was preceded in death by a sister, Elenora Schmidt, and two brothers, Raymond Ersch and Alton Ersch.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hill Country Memorial Hospice, St. Mary’s School Endowment Fund or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Darel Burow, Steven Mohr, Glen Stuart, Terrill Stehling, Trent Stehling and Richard Reid.
