LuJane Keller, 83, of Mason, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m., at Mason Funeral Home, in Mason, with interment following at the Loyal Valley Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 6, from 5-8 p.m., at the funeral chapel.

Memorials may be made to the Loyal Valley Cemetery or to the charity of choice.

Harold Henry Henke

HAROLD HENRY HENKE

Harold Henry Henke, 86, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015.

A private memorial service is planned at a later date.

Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Henke was born May 31, 1928, the son of Guenther and Elsie Henke. He married Rita Schirk on May 17, 2002, and she survives.

A lifelong rancher, Henke grew up on the family ranch between Fredericksburg and Kerrville. His schooling began in a one-room schoolhouse and progressed to the Morris Ranch School, Fredericksburg High School and then Trinity University in San Antonio.

He graduated from Trinity in 1950 with a bachelor of science degree in business and then served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Upon the death of his older brother, Otto, in 1955, Henke moved his family to the ranch and took over operations, breeding registered Hereford cattle and becoming active in the Texas Hereford Association.

In addition to his wife, Henke is survived by two children, Mark Henke and his wife, Cheryl, of Justin, and Lane Tait, of Fredericksburg, and their mother, Carolyn Henke, also of Fredericksburg.

He is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Marjorie Nehring of Seattle, Washington.

Along with his parents, Henke was preceded in death by one brother, Otto Henke, and two sisters, Louise Dietel and Mabel Simmons.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.

Sanford F. (Tunk) Dunning

SANFORD E. 'TUNK' DUNNING

Sanford F. (Tunk) Dunning, 84, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30, in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home with the Rev. John Hierholzer officiating.

Visitation was held beforehand.

Private interment is planned at a later date.  

Dunning was born April 29, 1930, in Aurora, Illinois, the son of Sanford F. Dunning Sr. and Gladys Edna Westwood Dunning. He married Joyce Ann Durst on July 2, 1954, in Sacramento, California, and she survives.

In addition to his wife, Dunning is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Karen Dunning, of Garland, and a daughter, Sandra Elaine Dunning, of Fredericksburg, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandchild and one brother who died in infancy.

Memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 1001 Water St., Suite B-100, Kerrville, TX 78028, or to the charity of choice.  

Serving as honorary pallbearers were J.B. Tobias, Jerry McCorkle, John Bennett, Eric Mustard and Don Spraggins.

Ella Nancy Davis

Ella Nancy Davis, 76, nee Belknap, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2015.

A private memorial service is planned at a later date.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Ms. Davis was born Aug. 20, 1938, in Wichita Falls, the daughter of Allen Belknap and Fennie McCulley Belknap.

She was a retired seamstress and lived in Ingram before moving to Fredericksburg.

She is survived by three daughters, three sons and spouses, including Diane and David Mothershed, of Alabama; Randy and Kathy Loucks and Patricia and Jim Black, all of Borger; Pamela and Mike Todd, Pensacola, Florida; Forrest and Anastacia Davis, Fredericksburg, and Benjamin Davis, Ingram.

Survivors also include 24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Judy Whitehead, Peachola Greene and Judy Farquhar.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Marvin T. Behrends, 88, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, at Knopp Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 8, from 4-6 p.m., and Monday, Feb. 9, from 7-11:15 a.m.

The body will lie in state at Schaetter Funeral Home until 11:15 a.m., Monday, Feb. 9, and from noon to 1 p.m., at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church where the funeral will begin at 1 p.m.

Interment will follow at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Gentiva Hospice or to the charity of choice.

 

ROMAN ADAM WEBER

Roman Adam Weber, 97, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

Arrangements are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 8, from 3:30-6 p.m., and Monday, Feb. 9, from 7-9:45 a.m.

A rosary service will be held at 5 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral chapel.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 9, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Graveside services with military honors and entombment will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum.

 Memorials may be made to the Hill Country Community Needs Council, Golden Hub Community Center or to the charity of choice.

Sean Peter O’Hara, 62, of Harper, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home.

O’Hara was born Nov. 27, 1952, in Los Angeles, California, the son of Robert O’Hara and Ruby Cook O’Hara. He married Maureen Pepe on April 14, 1978, in Ventura, California, and she survives.

In addition to his wife, O’Hara is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Carolyn O’Hara of Fredericksburg, and two grandchildren.

Survivors also include his parents, Robert and Ruby O’Hara of Harper; two sisters-in-laws, Elaine Williams and her husband, Richard, of California, and Andrea Pepe of Harper, and his father-in-law, Joseph Pepe of California.

O’Hara was preceded in death by a son, Padraic O’Hara.

RHONDA LOUISE ROSS-MASTERS

Rhonda Louise Ross-Masters, 44, of Center Point, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 6, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerrville, with the Rev. Joseph Fegenbush officiating.

Interment followed at the Center Point Cemetery.

Visitation was held Thursday evening, Feb. 5, at the funeral chapel.

Ms. Ross-Masters was born Oct. 11, 1970, in Kerrville, the daughter of John Wayne Ross and Fernie Irene Elam Ross.

She attended school in Center Point, and was employed as a dog groomer.

Ms. Ross-Masters is survived by six children, including Amanda Tinsley-Pittman and Kimberly Tinsley, both of Fredericksburg; Jefferson Tinsley, San Antonio; Baylee Martinez and Shealyn Martinez, both of Ingram, and Cole Masters, Harper.

Survivors also include eight grandchildren, and three sisters, including Tammy Ross, Teresa Jobes and Tina Kaiser.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Ross-Masters was preceded in death by a brother, John Wayne Ross Jr.

Memorials may be made to the Masters Special Account at Security State Bank.

Maria Ynes Leon, 83, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service is planned at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Ms. Leon was born Jan. 22, 1932, in Mexico, the daughter of Leonardo and Hermelinda Leon. She was married to Eusebio Palomares who preceded her in death.

Ms. Leon is survived by eight children and spouses, including Emma Arevalo and husband, Javier, of Stockton, California; Mario Palomares and wife, Luz Maria Soto, Mexico; Manuel Palomares and wife, Florencia Maguna, Mexico; Felipe Palomares and wife, Alejandra Cervantez, Stockton, California; Alejandro Palomares and wife, Anna, of Fremont, California; Humberto Palomares and wife, Blanca Vazquez, Laredo; Ines Palomares Albiter and husband, Hugo, Fredericksburg, and, Eusebio Palomares and wife, Dierdra, Fredericksburg.

Survivors also include 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Consuelo Leon, and one brother, Jose Luis Leon, both of Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Sara Cazares.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.

LuJane Keller

LuJane Keller, 83, nee Williamson, of Mason, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, in a San Antonio hospital.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, at Mason Funeral Home in Mason, with the Rev. Colleen Haley officiating. Marilyn Kahan was the organist and Dorothy Asbill, the vocalist.

Interment followed in the Loyal Valley Cemetery.

Mrs. Keller was born July 13, 1931, in Freeport, the daughter of Dr. James Edward Williamson and Dona Hankins Williamson. She married Wayne Keller on April 16, 1954, in Houston, and he survives.

The Kellers lived in Livingston for many years before retiring to the Hill Country in 1996.

Over the years, she worked as a secretary at several different businesses.

She also sang with the Fredericksburg Chorale, the Mason Community Choir and the Mason United Methodist Church choir.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Keller is survived by one son and two daughters, including Henry James (Hank) Keller of Livingston;      Donna Gayle Nettles of Mason, and DeeAnn Willey and her husband, Keith, of La Vernia.

Survivors also include five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Keller was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sindy Nixon Keller.

Memorials may be made to the Loyal Valley Cemetery or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Ron Keller, Kolin Keller, Wes Keller, James Keller, Joshua Willey and Jordan Willey.

Honorary pallbearers were Jae Keller, Kevin Keller, Harvey Zesch, Max Hey, Eugene Zesch, Charles Pluenneke, Jimmy Jordan and Carl Martin.

William Jon Schlieper, 53, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015.

Schlieper was born Sept. 9, 1961, in Queens, New York, the son of James William Schlieper and Frances Muriel Kinder Schlieper.

He is survived  by his mother, Frances Muriel Kinder Schlieper of Fredericksburg; one sister, two brothers and spouses, including James and Mona Schlieper of Alice; Mark and Diane Schlieper of Edinburg, and Cheri and Teo Zapata of New Mexico.

Schlieper was preceded in death by his father.

Owen was born Aug. 24, 1951, in Hays County, the son of Theodore Elbert Owen and Josephine Alberta Allen Owen.

Dorthy Reeh Mauldin

DORTHY REEH MAULDIN

Dorthy Reeh Mauldin, 74, of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 13, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Priem officiating.

Vocalists during the funeral included Rick Bailey, James Bailey, Stevie Farrington and Wendy Schmidt.

Interment followed at the Christadelphian Cemetery at Stonewall.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Thursday evening, Feb. 12.

Mrs. Mauldin was born July 2, 1940, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Erwin Reeh and Cora Klein Reeh. She married Allen Mauldin on Sept. 12, 1959, at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on July 20, 2012.

Until her retirement, Mrs. Mauldin worked at Security State Bank & Trust as vice president of new accounts.

She is survived by four daughters, including Kay Adray, of Fredericksburg; Brenda Smith, Houston; Pamela Eichholtz, Cleburne, and Linda Mauldin, Austin; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Survivors also include a brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Karen Reeh of Fort Worth.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Mauldin was preceded in death by a brother, Clinton Reeh.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Department or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Cole Weinheimer, Adam Adray, Jr., Critz Smith, Allen Morris, Sonny Schmidt, Mitch Farrington and Joshua Reeh.

Honorary pallbearers were Brad Duecker, Hunter Smith and Mike Reeh.
