
NORBERT M. MEURER
Norbert M. Meurer, 89, of Corpus Christi, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 29, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Corpus Christi, with interment following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Memory Gardens Funeral Home where visitation and a rosary service were held Thursday evening, Oct. 29.
Meurer was born Sept. 5, 1926, in Fredericksburg, the son of Carl and Meta Meurer. He and his first wife, Florence, were married April 3, 1951, in San Antonio. She died Nov. 3, 2009. He married his second wife, Hortencia, in 2010 and she survives.
Shortly after graduating from high school, Meurer moved to San Antonio to work for International Harvester Company.
He spent his entire working career in the farm equipment business and owned San Patricio Truck and Tractor in Taft until his retirement. He also had a ranch at Stockdale.
In addition to his wife, Meurer is survived by two sons, two daughters and spouses, including Mary and James Foy, Jeanette and Wayne Campbell, Kenneth and Sandy Meurer and Gary and Amanda Meurer, all of Corpus Christi.
Survivors also include 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Hugo and Susie Meurer or Austin, and a sister-in-law, Lillian Meurer of Fredericksburg.
Meurer was preceded in death by his parents as well as four brothers and two sisters, including Otto Meurer, Alex Meurer, Johnny Meurer, Carl Meurer, Nora Nebgen and Elsie Langhennig.
