John F. Baker, 64, of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015.
A memorial service was held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.
Baker was born Feb. 2, 1951, in Tyler, the son of Haywood Baker and Margie Burks Baker. He married Peggy McKenzie on May 20, 1972, and she survives.
For 33 years, he worked as a research technician at Dow Chemical in Freeport.
He retired and moved to Fredericksburg in 2006.
In addition to his wife, Baker is survived by three sons, two daughters and spouses, including Brady and Lahree Baker, Amber and Joseph Covert and Brittany and Tim Quinn, all of Fredericksburg; Andy and Leticia Baker, of Belize, and Jade and Crysta Baker of Tuxedo Park, New York.
Survivors also include six grandchildren; his mother, Margie Baker Cobb, and sister, Linda Wehrly, both of Marysville, California.
He was preceded in death by his father.
