LLOYD ED SCHLAUDT

Lloyd Ed Schlaudt, 59, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 18, at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Rick Hartmann officiating.

Interment followed at Der Stadt Friedhof.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Friday evening.

Schlaudt was born March 4, 1956, in Fredericksburg, the son of Martin Schlaudt and Harriett Crenwelge Schlaudt.

He ranched in the Cherry Spring community and owned and operated several businesses over the years, including Lloyd’s Paint and Body and his red granite gravel hauling business called SRV Trucking.

Schlaudt and his brother-in-law, Johnny Nicholas, also cut and sold firewood under the name of Woody’s Wood Service for several years in the early 1980s.

Schlaudt is survived by one son and two daughters, including Leonard Martin Schlaudt and Daisha Kayleen Patranella and her husband, Mark, all of Bryan, and Kendra Larissa Schlaudt of Houston, and one grandson.

He is also survived by his mother, Harriett Crenwelge Schlaudt, and a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Johnny Nicholas, all of Fredericksburg.

Schlaudt was preceded in death by one daughter, Laurel Lane Schlaudt, and his father, Martin Schlaudt.

Pallbearers included Wilfred Crenwelge, Ronnie Ferguson, Paul Hargis, Sammy Jenschke, Keith Klein and Barney Kneese.

Memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church at Cherry Spring, Zion Lutheran Church, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.
