Henry W. Hickman

Henry W. Hickman, 66, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, June 27, 2015.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 3, at Oak Hills Church Fredericksburg with the Rev. Michael Meek officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Hickman was born Feb. 21, 1949, in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Henry M. Hickman and Jacqueline M. Morton Hickman. He married Coleen Spence on Oct. 6, 1973, and she survives.

After graduating from Phoenix College, Hickman then attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greely on an athletic scholarship. He graduated in 1971 with a degree in business administration.

In 1978, Hickman joined the Hawaii County Police Department in Hawaii. During his time with the police department, he reached the rank of Lieutenant of Detective Department.

He attended the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy from September to December of 2000.

After 25 years of service, Henry retired in December of 2003.

The Hickmans moved to Fredericksburg in 2006.

In addition to his wife, Hickman is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Hickman of Seattle, Washington; a son, Michael Hickman of San Diego, California, and a brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Karen Hickman of Chicago, Illinois.
