Robert W. Harper

Robert W. Harper, 86, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Windcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date.

Arrangements and cremation were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Harper was born April 6, 1929, in Lexa, Mississippi, the son of Richard Harper and Theresa Stanton Harper. His wife, the former Sally Johnston, survives.

In addition to his wife, Harper is survived by six children and spouses, including Sandra Harper of New York, New York; Chuck and Marcia Harper, East Bernard; Theresa Harper, Rockport, Maine; Mike Harper, Wharton; David Cooney, Fredericksburg, and, Chris and Milagros Cooney, Early.

Survivors also include 13 grandchildren and a brother, Leonard Harper, Oxford, Mississippi.

Harper was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Sarah Harper and Gram Lenery.
