James A. Eckhardt

James A. Eckhardt, 78, of Fredericksburg, died Monday, Feb. 23, 2015.

Graveside services and interment were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Mayer officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Friday evening, Feb. 27.

Eckhardt was born Jan. 9, 1937, in Fredericksburg, the son of Harry F. Eckhardt and Elfrieda Braeutigam Eckhardt.

He is survived by five children and spouses, including Bryan Eckhardt, of Fredericksburg; Kim and Ken Theriot, Alvin; Kyle and Laurie Eckhardt, Sealy; Randall Scott, Austin, and Jamie Lynn and Bob Bromley, Franklin, Indiana.

Survivors also include six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Marie Eckhardt of Fredericksburg.

Eckhardt was preceded in death by his parents, as well as a brother, Lee Harry Eckhardt.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church at Cave Creek or to the charity of choice.
