Evelyn Segner

Evelyn Segner, 85, of San Antonio and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015.

A funeral mass was celebrated Friday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist and Annette Whittington, the vocalist.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and vigil services, led by Deacon Patrick Klein, were held Thursday evening, Jan. 22.

Miss Segner was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Gillespie County, the daughter of Albert John Segner and Ludmilla Klein Segner.

Survivors include one sister, Rosie, Mrs. Erwin Weber, and two sisters-in-law, Irene, Mrs. Ewald Segner and Florence, Mrs. Erwin Segner, all of Fredericksburg.

In addition to her parents, Miss Segner was preceded in death by one sister, Regina Staha, and five brothers, including Erwin Segner, Ewald Segner, Henry Segner, Lawrence Segner and Robert Segner.

Memorials may be made to the Golden Hub Community Center, St. Joseph’s Halle Restoration Fund or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Charles Segner, Dennis Dean Segner, David Segner, Gerald Segner, Tommie Segner and Frederick Segner.
