Albert Hallford

Albert Hallford, 81, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014.

Graveside services and interment were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 23, at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton.

A celebration of his life will be held locally at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.

Hallford was born Sept. 5, 1933, in Fort Stockton, the son of Currie Hallford and Annie Webb Hallford. He married Margaret McKinney in 1962, and she survives.

A U.S. Army veteran, Hallford served from 1954-56.

He received a master of education degree from Sul Ross University in Alpine, and for 40 years, was a teacher/principal in Balmorhea and Alpine.

He had also served as an Alpine municipal judge and was a cattle rancher.

In addition to his wife, Hallford is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Scott Stone of Ridgefield, Connecticut and Denise and Chris Looney of New Braunfels.

Survivors also include six grandchildren; two sisters Dorothy Lentz of Odessa, and Betty Henslee and her husband, Ira Lee, of Fort Stockton, and one brother, Currie Hallford and his wife, Karen, of Georgetown.

Honorary pallbearers included David Clegg, Don Satterwhite, Currie Hallford, Ira Lee Henslee, E.W. Hallford and Ronnie Williams.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or to the charity of choice.
