Martin Neri

Martin Neri, 66, of Fredericksburg, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at Fredericksburg Nursing and Rehab Center.

A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 14-15. A rosary service was held on Oct. 14 at the funeral home.

Neri was born Jan. 31, 1948, in Mexico, the son of Jose Neri and Teresa Vacquez Neri. He married Maria Olvera, and she survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by six sons, one daughter and spouses including Jose and Mirna Neri and Alonzo and Mari Neri, all of Comfort; Martin and Liliana Neri Jr., Filimon and Laura Neri and Antonio and Gloria Neri, all of Mexico, and Rebecca and Israel Alva and Juan and Liliana Neri, all of Fredericksburg.

Neri is also survived by 45 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, seven sisters and one brother.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
