KARL-HEINZ J. KRENZ
Karl-Heinz J. Krenz, 65, of Wimberley, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2014.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m. at Thomason Funeral Home in Wimberley.
Interment with full military honors followed at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Krenz was born Aug. 28, 1949, in West Berlin, Germany, the son of Karl and Ursula Krenz. His family arrived at Ellis Island, New York, on July 4, 1959, and settled in Fredericksburg.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
After graduating from Texas State University in San Marcos, Krenz embarked on a career in management in the oil and gas industry and the manufacturing of medical devices.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Billy J. Krenz; and three daughters and spouses, including Diane and Doug White of Midland, Michigan; Pamela and Elvis Anderson, Houston, and Jamie and Vineet Gupta, Watertown, Minnesota.
Survivors also include seven grandchildren and a brother, Wolfgang Krenz of Wimberley.
