Ralph Eugene McCullough II

Ralph Eugene McCullough II, 86, of Brownwood, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17, at Davis Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood with the Rev. Tim Skaggs officiating.

Interment followed at Eastlawn Memorial Park.

McCullough was born Jan. 15, 1928, in Tom Green County, the son of Ralph Earl McCullough and Isabell Emeline Cooper McCullough. He married Joyce Nell Joiner on Dec. 5, 1945. She preceded him in death.

After graduating from Eola High School in 1944, McCullough received his technical and advanced education at San Angelo Junior College, U.S. Navy electronics and airborne ordinance schools, national schools and Southern Methodist University.

McCullough served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1947 and was discharged with the rank of ARM2C. He served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve from 1948-1956 and was discharged with the rank of first lieutenant.

He was employed by Humble Oil and Refining Company (now Exxon-Mobil) from 1951-1958, and by Texas Instruments, Inc. from 1958-1990.

McCullough is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Earl and Tamberly McCullough, and David Eugene and Kathy McCullough; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, McCullough was preceded in death by two sisters, Lynda McGough, and Gwynn Heathcock.
