
SADIE OLEANE WALKER BARRETT
Sadie Oleane Walker Barrett, 87, of Harper, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2014, at River Hills Health and Rehab in Kerrville.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Kerrville with the Rev. Bob Allen officiating.
Interment followed in the Harper Community Cemetery.
Visitation was held Friday evening, Sept. 12, at the funeral chapel.
Mrs. Barrett was born Aug. 6, 1927, in the Reservation community of Kerr County, the daughter of Olin Bryan Walker and Reseda Anna Bode Walker. She married Milton Wayne Barrett on April 10, 1947, in San Antonio.
She attended Reservation Primary School and graduated from Harper High School.
The Barretts owned and operated Wayne Barrett Electric Company in San Antonio and ranched at Harper.
Mrs. Barrett is survived by one son, three daughters and spouses, including Olin Wayne and Joan Barrett, Karen Craig, Anna and Fredrick Gallagher and Elizabeth and Robert Cover.
Survivors also include 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. James and Margie Walker and Howard and Mary Walker, and a sister, Josephine Rieger.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Wayne Barrett, and a sister, Bonnie Rahe.
Memorials may be made to the Harper Volunteer Fire Department.
Pallbearers included Jason Barrett, Ryan Craig, Alex Craig, Bryan Cover, Collin Gray and Abram Bueche’.
Honorary pallbearers were Sean Craig, J.B. Rieger, Neal Rieger, Robbie Walker and Rick Walker.
