KATHLEEN WEINHEIMER DICKEY

Kathleen Weinheimer Dickey, 83 of Elkridge, Maryland and formerly of Pampa, Texas, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014.

A funeral mass was celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Pampa with the Rev. John Valdez and Shaun Smithson, her grandson, officiating.

Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa.

Visitation and vigil services were held Monday evening, Sept. 1, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home in Pampa.

Mrs. Dickey was born in Fredericksburg on July 31, 1931, the daughter of Albert and Theresa Weinheimer. Her family later moved to Groom, which is east of Amarillo.

She married Joseph G. Dickey on Nov. 28, 1953, in Groom. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1992.

For many years, Mrs. Dickey helped her husband in his CPA practice. She was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church in Pampa.

In June of 2010, she moved to Elkridge, Maryland, to be closer to family.

Mrs. Dickey is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Katrina and James Smithson of Elkridge, Maryland; two grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Survivors also include two sisters, Antoinette Quirk of Amarillo and Theresa Swiger and her husband, Phil, of Bedford; and two brothers, James Weinheimer of Groom and Pat Weinheimer and his wife, Maggie, of Amarillo.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Dickey was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Eugenia and Ray Byard; a brother-in-law, Jack Quirk, and a sister-in-law, Janice Weinheimer.
