ROYCE (ROY) WRINKLE

Royce Newton (Roy) Wrinkle, 82, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014.

Graveside services and interment were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Priddy with Ron Briley officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Friday evening, Aug. 22.

Wrinkle was born March 31, 1932, in Coke County, west of Bronte, the son of Dennis Tipton Wrinkle and Minnie Ola Wrinkle. He and his wife, Johanna, were married on March 25, 1951. She preceded him in death in 2008.

Over the years, Wrinkle was a farmer and rancher, a ranch hand, mechanic, blacksmith, welder, machinist and entrepreneur.

In the winter of 1958-59, he founded Wrinkle Welding and Machine Shop which he operated for more than 30 years.

In 1998, the Wrinkles retired and moved to Victoria where they were members of Northside Baptist Church.

Prior to that, they belonged to First Baptist Church in Muleshoe.

Wrinkle is survived by two daughters and one son, including Cynthia Johanna Ott and her husband, James Lange, of Fredericksburg; Sharon Kay Miller and her husband, Phil, of Cypress, and Dr. Gary Wayne Wrinkle and his wife, Diane, of Dripping Springs.

Survivors also include seven grandchildren and a sister, Laura Bell Brown.

In addition to his wife, Wrinkle was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Tipton (DT) Wrinkle; two sisters, Leola Wrinkle and Evelyn Thelma Ripton Wrinkle, and a son, Todd Wrinkle.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.
