Mrs. William Baumert

Mrs. William Baumert, 85, nee Annie Olga Schmidtzinsky, of Fredericksburg, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.

A funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating. Mary Ann Murchison was the pianist, and Donna Durst, the vocalist.

Interment followed in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service were held Tuesday evening, Feb. 18.

Mrs. Baumert was born Dec. 1, 1928, in Fredericksburg, the daughter of Anton Schmidtzinsky and Augusta Klein Schmidtzinsky. She married William F. Baumert on Nov. 26, 1955, at St. Delores Catholic Church in Austin, and he survives.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Baumert is survived by one brother, Max Schmidtzinsky of Fredericksburg; three sisters and spouses, including Louise and Gilbert Martinez of Austin, VerNell and Ron Martinez of New Braunfels and Leola and Alfons Brodbeck of Fredericksburg.

Mrs. Baumert was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Charles W. Schmidtzinsky, and two sisters, Theresa Schmidt and Dora Reeh.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice, St. Mary’s Catholic Church or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Danny Reeh, Cliff Martinez, Michael Martinez, Lloyd Brodbeck, Dale Brodbeck and Larry Ahrens

Honorary pallbearers were Eileen Gold, Carol Rakowitz, Annette Martinez and Sheila Hill.
