Cruz Rangel Ramirez

Cruz Rangel Ramirez, 85, of Fredericksburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014.

A funeral mass was celebrated Friday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Enda McKenna officiating.

Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation and a prayer service were held Thursday evening, Feb. 20.

Mrs. Ramirez was born June 27, 1928, in Mexico, the daughter of Esteban Rangel and Epifania Solis Rangel. She was married to Claudio Alonzo Ramirez Sr. who preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 2014.

She is survived by three sons, six daughters and spouses, including Francisca and Francisco Hernandez, San Juanita Ramirez, Enereida and Trinidad Herrera and Mirtha and Benito DeLeon, all of Fredericksburg; Hector Ramirez, and Reyna and Cirilo Munoz, all of Mexico; Humberto and Annabel Ramirez, Junction; Ricardo and Virginia Ramirez, Iowa, and Alma and Terry Davis, Texas.

Survivors also include 37 grandchildren, 97 great-grandchildren, 23 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Eusevio Rangel Solis, and a sister, Rosamaria Solis Zapata, both of Mexico.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ramirez was preceded in death by two sons, Claudio Alonzo Ramirez Jr. and Oscar Ramirez; three other children who died in infancy, and two brothers.
