FELIX NEFFENDORF
Felix E. Neffendorf, 91, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014.
Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 10, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Fredericksburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Friedrich officiating.
Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery.
Neffendorf was born Sept. 14, 1922, in Gillespie County, the son of Richard Neffendorf Sr. and Frieda Friedrich Neffendorf. He married Irene Nehr on June 7, 1946, and she survives.
A U.S. Army veteran, Neffendorf served in Europe during World War II.
He worked as a nurse’s aide at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Kerrville, and was also a rancher and did mechanic work.
In addition to his wife, Neffendorf is survived by two sons, one daughter and spouses, including Dennis and Teresa Neffendorf, and Judy Neffendorf and Gary Oden, all of Fredericksburg, and Rick and Iris Neffendorf of Stonewall.
Survivors also include nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, including Laura Gerloff, Bernice Dryden, Frieda Louise Smith, James Neffendorf and Lee Neffendorf.
Neffendorf was preceded in death by his parents, as well as three brothers, Raymond Neffendorf, William Neffendorf and Richard Neffendorf Jr., and three sisters, Margaret Neffendorf, Edna Gerloff and Vera Hertel.
Memorials may be made to Hill Country Memorial Hospice or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included Joseph Martinez, Riley Neffendorf, Remington Neffendorf, Chris Neffendorf, Shannon Neffendorf, Keith Neffendorf and Lance Neffendorf.
