
E. Reagan Heartfield, 92, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013.
Graveside services and interment were held Friday, Nov. 22, at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Danielle Knapp officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home.
Heartfield was born Dec. 16, 1920, in Beaumont, the son of Leonard Heartfield and Lille Mae Mercer Heartfield. He married Margaret (Mike) Weston on Aug. 16, 1956, in Beaumont. She preceded him in death.
Prior to entering the U.S. Army, Heartfield attended Texas A&M University.
He was a bombardier during World War II, flying 39 combat missions in a B-26 bomber over France and Belgium. His plane was shot down, he was captured and was a prisoner of war for 10 months.
Heartfield worked in the oil and gas industry until his retirement.
He is survived by two step-sons, John Everett and his wife, Debra, of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, and David Everett of Austin.
In addition to his wife and parents, Heartfield was preceded in death by three brothers, William Heartfield, Donald Heartfield and Brooks Heartfield, and a sister, Faye Chavanne.
