Larry Steve Klein

Larry Steve Klein, 60, of Austin and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, in an Austin hospital.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 21, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with Deacon Patrick Klein officiating.

Graveside services with military honors and interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Prior to the funeral, the body lay in state at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Austin on Monday morning, and at Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation was held Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

Klein was born July 22, 1952, in Fredericksburg, the son of Victor Christian Klein and Janice Ann Knopp Klein.

Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Renee Klein of Cedar Park, and one son, Derek Victor Klein of Austin.

Klein is also survived by one sister, Donna Hastings of San Antonio, and two brothers, Glenn Klein of Comfort and Warren Klein and his wife, Connie, of Fredericksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Tanner Kneese, Ricky Durst, Stephen Galban, Jason Locker, Heath Klein, Luis A. Villalobos, Tyler Klein and Cory Wilburn.
