
MRS. ALOIS W. KLEIN
Mrs. Alois W. Klein, 83, nee Clifteen Erna Klein of Stonewall, died Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Hill Country Memorial Hospital.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 11, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stonewall with the Rev. Jim Harnan officiating. DeAnn Hampton was the organist, and Rhonda Schaetter, the vocalist.
Interment followed in the Stonewall Community Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schaetter Funeral Home where visitation and a vigil service were held Sunday evening, April 10.
Mrs. Klein was born Aug. 16, 1932, in Gillespie County, the daughter of Helmuth Klein and Olga Pehl Klein. She married Alois W. Klein on May 21, 1952, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stonewall. He preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 2009.
She worked as a teacher’s aide/secretary at the Stonewall Elementary School from 1968-1993, retiring after 25 years.
Mrs. Klein is survived by one daughter, Karen A. Duderstadt of Boerne, and a son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Vickie Klein of Fredericksburg.
Survivors also include four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a sister, Gertrude, Mrs. Werner Ottmers of Fredericksburg.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Klein was preceded in death by one sister, Anita Segner, and one brother, Arnold Klein.
Memorials may be made to the Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church or to the charity of choice.
Pallbearers included James Duderstadt, Dustin Klein, Jay Martin, Chris Lay, Dennis Segner, Rodney Ottmers and Jarvis Klein.
Honorary pallbearers were Mindy Lay, Tanie Martin, Nicole Klein and Jamie Duderstadt.
