
MJ BARBRE
Mary Jo (MJ) Barbre, 81, nee Tipton, of Fort Worth, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2016, at a Fort Worth care center.
A memorial service is planned at The Courtyards at River Park in Fort Worth at a later date.
Ms. Barbre was born July 30, 1934, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Charlie and Cecile Tipton.
She earned a master’s degree at Tulsa University and worked at Philbrook Art Museum in Tulsa before moving to Fredericksburg in 1996.
She worked in several local retail boutiques and shops over the years and was a member of Fredericksburg United Methodist Church until moving to Fort Worth in 2014.
Ms. Barbre is survived by two sons, Bill Barbre and his wife, Betsy, of Fort Worth; and Chris Barbre of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a daughter, Susan Barbre of Austin.
Survivors also include a sister, Trudy Beard-Lazaroe of Port Orange, Florida; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Barbre was preceded in death by a brother, John Tipton.
